We have reached the end of our first week of travel. We've explored the smaller islands, surrounded by the deep blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. But today, for the seventh installment of our blog, we want to give you a little secret. We know that in August, Sicily becomes a coveted destination for thousands of travelers, and finding a corner of paradise "all to yourself" can seem like an impossible challenge.
Yet, Sicily is vast and jealously guards small treasures far from the major tourist flows. Here are 5 wonderful, little-known, and chaos-free coves where the sea remains the absolute protagonist.
1. Cala Tonnarella dell'Uzzo (Zingaro Nature Reserve, TP)
While everyone stops at the first coves of the Zingaro Reserve, those willing to walk a bit further can reach Tonnarella. It is a pearl of white pebbles nestled between cliffs plunging straight into the sea. The water has a shade of blue that doesn't seem real.

The tip: Arrive very early in the morning (at 8:00 AM you'll be the first ones there), and you'll take home a magical memory.
2. Marianelli Beach (Vendicari, SR)
We are in the Vendicari Reserve, between Noto and Pachino. While nearby Calamosche has become famous, Marianelli remains a place of surreal tranquility. It lies between sand dunes, almond groves, and low rocks. It is a free, wild beach where nature has kept its primordial appearance.

Who it's for: For those seeking absolute silence and who don't mind walking through Mediterranean vegetation to reach it.
3. Cala del Monaco (Lampedusa – accessible only by sea)
Although we mentioned Lampedusa yesterday, this cove deserves a special mention because many ignore it in favor of the more famous beaches. Cala del Monaco can only be reached by boat or dinghy. It is a temple of silence where the seabed is so crystal-clear that you can see the bottom even meters deep.

The experience: Rent a small gozzo (traditional wooden boat) for the day and let the sea guide you here.
4. Contrada Fossa Beach (Vulcano Island, Aeolian Islands)
While everyone crowds into the mud baths beach or Donkey Beach (spiaggia dell'Asino), on Vulcano there is still the chance to enjoy a nearly deserted nature. Contrada Fossa beach is less frequented and offers a landscape of black volcanic sand and a cobalt blue sea that invites meditation.

The extra touch: Wait for the sunset here: watching the sun go down behind the other Aeolian islands while the black sand holds onto the warmth is a unique emotion.
5. Cala Junco (Panarea – "hidden" side)
Everyone knows Cala Junco, but few know that by straying from the main paths and walking toward the remains of the prehistoric village, cliffside corners open up where the water is electric blue and the crowds never reach.

Caution: The path requires proper footwear, but the reward is a dip in a crystal-clear sea, far from the noise of clubs and the most crowded boats.
